In celebration of Father’s Day earlier this month, PE1 issued an open invitation to ‘make dad’s day’ with four days of creative crafting, sporting shenanigans and head-turning high jinks!
Trophies & Ties
On Saturday 15th June, children had the opportunity to design and decorate a ceramic trophy for their dad or carer, just in time for Father’s Day. Using a variety of crafting pens and accessories, little ones created unique keepsakes to show just how much they cared for the fab fellas in their lives.
On Father’s Day itself (Sunday 16th June), mini fashionistas used fabric paints, pens and accessories to design a fabric tie as a gift. Children were over brimming with artistic skill and a colourful array of high fashion, bespoke accessories left the dedicated crafting station!
Both events were hosted by Crafty Crew, all materials were provided and trained instructors were on hand to offer guidance. Crafty Crew said: “Well done to all the young crafters and designers that came to PE1. They created wonderful must-haves for dads and loved ones!”
PE1 received great feedback from parents and carers on both days too, with some taking to social media to express their enjoyment and gratitude. Sheryl Jones said: “My kids thoroughly enjoyed making their Father’s Day ties. Thank you!”
On Saturday 22nd and Sunday 23rd June, our Game On! range of action activities gave the whole family a chance to enjoy some competitive fun. All activities were £2 per person, but dads could take part for free! Energetic entertainment on offer included:
Standing an impressive 11-foot-high, our inflatable football darts activity – with its traditional dart board appearance – certainly grabbed the attention of the park’s visitors. Using Velcro footballs, guests took a step back from the board and aimed for the bullseye.
Gladiator Duel Joust
Gladiators! Ready! Remember the duel game from the Gladiators TV show? Contenders would battle the Gladiators on top of a platform with a big pugil stick in an attempt to knock each other off. In our inflatable replica, this famous battle was re-enacted to much cheering and laughter!
Cowabunga dudes! There’s was no need to head to Bondi Beach with PE1’s inflatable surfing simulator. Both young and old were rocking and rolling with the big kahunas as they strove to catch the next big wave.
Peterborough One Retail Park’s Site Manager, Paul Dunn, said: “PE1’s Father’s Day events proved very popular, due to the variety of activities on offer and the glorious weather. We were delighted with all the positive feedback we received, and we look forward to hosting more activities and shows over the summer months.”
