On Sunday 11th March we celebrated Mother’s Day in the UK. It was a time for hardworking mums up and down the country to take a break and for us to thank them for their love and support.
Ahead of this special day, Peterborough One Retail Park invited children to get crafty at its Mother’s Day themed craft workshop!
During the free-to-attend workshop, little ones designed and decorated picture holders which could then be taken home to give to mum.
This fun event, hosted by Crafty Crew, gave them the opportunity to try their hand at creative techniques, using specialist and high-quality paints and accessories. All materials were provided and supervisors gave help and guidance.
Getting Crafty at PE1
It was wonderful to see lots of happy families turning out to get crafty! Tots produced some colourful creations and the event proved to be a great opportunity for the ‘grown ups’ to spend quality time with them.
PE1’s Facebook followers were also invited to take part in a competition, associated with the event, for the chance to win £100 to spend in PE1’s stores. Steph Pegler was selected at random from all the entrants and will shortly be presented with her vouchers at the retail park.
Overall the event was a success, with all feedback forms given out on the day unanimous in their positive comments. Some comments on social media included:
The kids had great fun today making some photo frames. We were very impressed. It was really worth the visit. Lisa Griffiths
“Thank you. My granddaughter enjoyed it!” – Ann Hill
On social media, the event promotion organically reached over 23,000 people, with an engagement rate of 6%.
Peterborough One Retail Park’s Site Manager, Paul Dunn, says “Our Mother’s Day themed craft workshop event was a great success and gave children the chance to demonstrate their creative talents. There were some beautiful photo holders produced and we’re sure there were plenty of happy mums receiving them as gifts the following day.”
