Let’s face it, love never goes out of fashion and it’s no surprise that 1 in 3 of us chose to celebrate Valentine’s Day earlier this month.
From flowers to frills and sweet treats to heart-warming homeware, PE1’s stores were chock-a-block with great goodies for loved ones. The retail complex even hosted a series of half term events with a Valentine’s theme to commemorate the season of love.
We’re delighted with the success of the Valentine’s half term marketing campaign at PE1.
The week-long schedule of activities incorporated a variety of swoon-worthy shenanigans and captivating crafting. These included:
Valentine’s Craft Workshop
Little ones could be as creative as their heart’s desired by decorating wooden keepsake boxes during a FREE Valentine’s craft workshop. Using a variety of paints, pens and themed accessories, children could design and create a bespoke item to take home and keep. Trained supervisors were on hand to offer guidance throughout. Over 200 children took part, with lots of positive feedback from attendees:
“My little girl had a wonderful time, she loved being able to decorate her heart box.”
“The children enjoyed the freedom to be creative and create something that will last and be used at home.”
“We loved the craft play. It was lovely for the children – such a fab thing for them to do.”
Bungee Trampoline: Love is in the Air
Families were invited to experience the thrill of flying effortlessly through the air with the help of a Bungee Trampoline. This popular activity is a new style variation on an old favourite. It allows young and old to bounce, spin and pretend to be an Olympic gymnast without any fear of sprains and strains! It was the perfect way for visitors to PE1 to be swept off their feet during the Valentine period.
Cute Couples Competition
PE1 shoppers were also encouraged to find six famous cartoon couples in the retail complex’s stores for the chance to win a hamper worth £50 filled with fun and games. Happy shopper Liz Creed was selected at random as the lucky winner and was presented with her prize at The Works in PE1.
A Heart-warming Success
The week’s activities proved very popular, seeing lots of people attending the events. On social media, the associated promotion organically reached nearly 22,000 people with an engagement rate of over 5%.
Peterborough One Retail Park’s Site Manager, Paul Dunn said: “We’re delighted with the success of the Valentine’s half term marketing campaign at PE1. We’re looking forward to hosting further events and shows over the next couple of months, including our Mother’s Day crafting event on Saturday 10th March.”
