Over the Bank Holiday weekend, there was an array of family fun on the agenda at Peterborough One Retail Park.

From smile-inducing soft play to fantastic face painting and captivating crazy golf to amazing archery, little (and big) kids had plenty to keep them occupied as the sunshine bathed the venue.

Going for Gold

Children could test their dexterity and skill during a variety of activities at PE1 over the weekend. The art of archery dates back to the Stone Age, around 20,000BC, but the earliest people known to have regularly used bows and arrows were the ancient Egyptians who adopted archery around 3,000BC for hunting and warfare. Adopting a slightly less combative approach, children could enjoy soft archery at PE1 on Saturday, Sunday and Monday. Using suction cup arrows and bows, little ones got the chance to learn this exciting skill and feel the satisfaction of going for gold!

A Hole in One

Crazy Golf is an offshoot of the sport of golf and focusses solely on the putting aspect of its parent game. A 9-hole crazy golf course was erected at PE1 for our Bank Holiday event, which saw families get competitive to gain that all important hole in one! Each hole of the mobile crazy golf course was unique, with humps, tunnels, loops and themes.

For toddlers, a soft play area and a toddle castle gave them a great opportunity to let off some steam, jump for joy and reach new heights.

Fantastic Faces

There was also a variety of art and beauty activities during the weekend including face painting and ‘glitterize’, where talented artists were on hand to transform children into mystical marvels, colourful creatures and glittering gods and goddesses! Temporary tattooing and hair braiding also proved especially popular.
