2021 in Review
When reflecting on the past year, it is impossible to ignore the continuing impact that the coronavirus pandemic has had on people and businesses. Despite the numerous hurdles, we are immensely proud of the resilience and ingenuity of our stores and services, and their ability to adapt and emerge successfully.
Despite these turbulent times, PE1 has welcomed a plethora of new tenants to the retail park. In June, the much-anticipated Aldi opened its doors. The supermarket initially recruited thirty new staff members for its 18,500 sq ft store, which stocks a range of top-quality, low-cost food and drink, as well as those infamous ‘specialbuys’!
PE1 also welcomed Angle Axe in June – Peterborough’s very first axe throwing range. Axe throwing is a modern sport that provides the perfect opportunity to de-stress, spend time with friends, family and work colleagues and get a good work out.
The appropriately named and increasingly popular Inspired Martial Arts continued the successful expansion of its dojos into PE1 at the end of July.
Jamie Johannes, Inspired Martial Arts proprietor and school leader says, “We know how to bring out the best of all ages. We provide support, encourage and teach in a manner allowing students to develop at their own pace whilst growing in confidence. We’re extremely happy to be running a dojo at PE1. It is a safe environment with ample parking with nearby cafes and other leisure attractions.”
Founded in 2018, Mobility Your Way opened a new showroom at PE1 mid-August. The family-run business specialises in mobility aids for the elderly and disabled. The company aims to make life easier with its new and reconditioned stock at fantastic prices, enabling individuals to live with freedom and independence. The team has decades of experience in the mobility industry and focus on delivering products and services all designed to give customers continued independence.
PE1 is looking forward to the New Year and continuing to build on the successes achieved in 2021. Keep your eyes peeled to our website and social media pages to ensure you’re up to date with all the latest developments.
Targetfollow, managing agents for PE1, say: “2021 has been a very busy year for PE1 and we’re delighted as to what has been achieved at the Retail Park during a challenging time. We’d like to take this opportunity to wish all our customers a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. We look forward to seeing you at PE1 throughout 2022.”
